3.1 How does SCS provide the technology?
SCS offer the technology as a service. The service includes the complete process. SCS will apply the THC/THP to the components. The customer conducts the test. Then SCS take the measurements and analyse the results. The temperature data is then reported to the customer. The details of each stage of the service will be discussed and agreed with the customer, then described in the offer.
3.2 Is the probe and measuring device included in the package beside THC/THP?
The current business model does not include the sale of any of the technology components, but offers a service.

3.3 Can we measure the temperature and post process the test data using some instructions or a highly qualified person is needed to be here for using the measuring device?
As stated in the previous question, SCS offer the technology as a service. We potentially can send one of our engineers, and they will carry out measurements. The post processing will be done at SCS and a report will be provided including temperature data at the end of the project/task.
3.4 Please give an estimate of the price of THC/THP and the service required for measurement and post process.
It is very difficult to give you a ‘flat-rate-fee’. The price is subject to overall effort such as number of components, geometrically small or large, simple or complex. Also, the price depends on the chosen method (THP or THC).
Customers without experience in the technology prefer doing feasibility / case studies on their specific components before starting a larger project. The studies can reach from £7,500 to £25,000 depending on several project specific items.
3.5 What is the lead time required to provide the powder?
This depends on the variant of the technology. For THP, we can usually apply the paint and return the parts within two weeks of receiving them. For THC, the lead times are longer and depend on the coating manufacturer because the coating deposition is outsourced.
3.6 Is data reduction performed by SCS? Do you provide details on the measurement system is the measurements are performed by the customer? Are your calibration curves made available to your customers?
Yes. The data reduction is performed by SCS for the time being.
At the moment measurements are performed by SCS. The general measurement methodology can be discussed with the customer, but details on how the measurement system works are not shared.
The calibration curves are specific to each project at the moment and we can make those available under a non-disclosure agreement. Ownership of the calibration curves remains with SCS.
