    SERVICE PROCESS

Our Thermal History Technology services are delivered through a series of stages. Each stage has a different purpose and general time period for completion associated. The timeline corresponds with SCS’ service processes and what occurs on a component’s journey. This process is carried out to enable the highest quality service for our clients.

    APPLICATION DEFINITION

    1-2 DAYS

    • Define test conditions – The component and the environment it is operated in are established
    • Determine most suitable solution – Select which Thermal History Technology to use and the duration of analysis appropriate

    PAINT/COATING APPLIED

    1-2 DAYS

    • Masking – The component is masked to protect sensitive surfaces from the grit blasting and painting process
    • Grit blasting – Components go through this to remove dirt and other impurities before paint/coating application
    • Spraying – Thermal History  Paint/Coating is applied to the component surface

    INSTALLATION AND TESTING

    DEPENDANT ON CUSTOMER

    • Test planning – Client determines the method which is most appropriate to test the components
    • Test preparation – The test environment is set up for the operation of the equipment
    • Operation of equipment – Clients are given back the component(s), where they are placed back in normal operation for a designated period of time

    MEASUREMENT

    1-2 WEEKS

    • Record luminescence data – SCS Instrumentation is used to measure the luminescent properties across the component surface

    DATA REDUCTION AND REPORTING

    2-3 WEEKS

    • Calibration of paint/coating – Calibration data is generated to convert the luminescent data to temperature values
    • Report results – The data is converted to temperature and reduced, to give clients clear results and conclusions of the thermal measurement process
